Sister Elizabeth Van Straten, RHSJ, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Bernard Hospital. Sister Elizabeth has been with the St. Bernard family since 1978, first in the Finance and Business Offices of the hospital, and then as part of Senior Leadership as Vice President of Finance. Following a term as Executive Vice President, she was named to her current position in 1992. She graduated locally from DePaul University, with additional studies at St. Paul University (Canada), Gonzaga University (Washington), and St. Lawrence College (Canada).
Janet Nohos is the Executive Vice President of St. Bernard Hospital, a position she has held since 1992. Mrs. Nohos has enjoyed a lengthy career with St. Bernard, beginning in Medical Records, and consistently excelled through the ranks. Mrs. Nohos has been with St. Bernard Hospital for 40 years.
Ronald Campbell is the Vice President of Patient Care Services at St. Bernard Hospital. A member of the St. Bernard family since 1984, Ronald Campbell has climbed the hospital ranks from staff nurse to Patient Care Coordinator, then to Administrative Assistant. He was named Vice President of Patient Care Services in 1991. He is a graduate of Malcolm X College in Chicago and holds a management degree from Saint Joseph College in Indiana.
Guy Alton is the Chief Financial Officer of St. Bernard Hospital. Mr. Alton has been with St. Bernard since 2001. He has a long professional history of health care finance, as interim CFO at St. Francis Hospital Blue Island and at Morris Hospital as Director of Finance and Administrator of Support Services. Mr. Alton earned bachelor and master's degrees from Lewis University.
Charles Holland is the Vice President of Planning and Development at St. Bernard Hospital, and serves as Executive Director of the St. Bernard Housing Development Corporation, a non-profit subsidiary of the hospital. He holds a master's degree in social service administration from the University of Chicago, and a master's degree in health law from Loyola University Chicago.
Roland Abellera is the Vice President of Quality and Corporate Compliance at St. Bernard Hospital. His professional career began in the Health Information Management Department at Advocate-Bethany Hospital. He then served as Medical Records Department Supervisor at University of Chicago, and later as a Director for a private firm supplying health care services at Stateville Correctional Center. Mr. Abellera attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, and earned his undergraduate degree in Health Information Management from Chicago State University.
Evelyn Jones has enjoyed a lengthy nursing career at St. Bernard Hospital, leading to her current position in administration as Chief Nurse Officer. After seven years in nursing and surgery, Ms. Jones was named Director of Quality Improvement and Nursing Education, and later became Director of Medical/Surgical Nursing. In 1997, she was named as Director of Nursing and remained in that position until joining the Senior Team as Chief Nurse Officer. Ms. Jones earned a bachelor's degree in nursing, plus a master's degree in business, from Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois.
