St. Bernard Announces Plans to Walk The Red Carpet at Annual Event

March 1, 2007 – CHICAGO – Glitz and glamour come to the South Shore Cultural Center as St. Bernard Hospital hosts its annual fund-raiser, “The Red Carpet,” on Friday night, August 10, 2007.

Fashion takes center stage with a signature runway show by Englewood area native and Chicago Fashion Week designer Mid Badie, and the hospital will present the inaugural recipients of the Barack Obama Nursing Scholarship of St. Bernard Hospital.

“Our goal is to create a night to remember, an enchanted evening,” says Sister Elizabeth Van Straten, RHSJ, President and CEO at St. Bernard. “In a historic venue along the lakefront, with our friends, neighbors, and colleagues in attendance, we look forward to walking down The Red Carpet to a magical night that we’ll all enjoy.”

The hospital will also present the Father Bernard Murray “Good for Englewood” award, to a community member who best represents long-term commitment to the Englewood neighborhood, just as Father Murray’s vision led to the creation of St. Bernard Hospital in 1904.

Tickets to “The Red Carpet” ($100 / $150) will be available to the public beginning April 10, 2007. Corporate sponsor packages are available in advance. For more information on corporate packages, contact Darryl Nash at (773) 962-4127.
