We are proud to announce that St. Bernard Hospital has received another A grade from The Leapfrog Group in its Spring 2025 Hospital Safety Grades. This grade reflects our ongoing commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence and transformative care.
The A grade is a direct reflection of our zero-infection performance in 2024, including:
- Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI)
- Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTI)
- MRSA infections
- Surgical Site Infections (SSI)
- Hospital-Acquired Pressure Injuries (HAPI)
- Falls resulting in serious injury
In addition to infection control, we achieved one of our most meaningful milestones in sepsis care. In the last four years, we have reduced sepsis mortality from 19% to 6%, even as our number of sepsis cases has increased. This achievement is not merely statistical – it represents lives saved, families preserved and the delivery of safe and reliable care.
Achieving another “A” grade, affirms the work of every team member at St. Bernard Hospital. Our success is rooted in disciplined practice, innovation and a culture that refuses to compromise when it comes to safety and quality. As we continue to lead with transparency, compassion and excellence, we proudly celebrate this milestone on our continued journey of ensuring that every community member receives the high-quality care they deserve.
