ABOUT:

St. Bernard Hospital: Located in the heart of Chicago’s Englewood community, St. Bernard is the last remaining hospital of four that once served the Englewood community. St. Bernard Hospital represents an essential safety-net community hospital providing high-quality health care with respect, dignity, and compassion for 114 years. More than 81,000 people receive care from St. Bernard annually with over 70% being Medicaid recipients. Each year, the hospital provides millions of dollars in charity care. Our services are essential to our community’s well-being. Very few patients have private insurance or can pay the typical physician’s fee, coupled with the low reimbursements we receive from Medicaid. We rely on the generosity of supporters like you that share our commitment to provide affordable, accessible, high quality health care.
