The Leapfrog Group has issued its Fall 2024 patient safety grades for hospitals nationwide. Once again, St. Bernard Hospital received a C, the exact grade we received in the Spring of 2024. Our crucial safety measures are still on track, and we continue to monitor them closely. Infection Prevention remains one of the measures that require our utmost diligence.
While we continue to perform well on key patient safety measures, we need to improve on measures targeting the overall patient experience, which also factor into the Leapfrog grade. We have taken steps to address this concern by hiring a Director of Patient Experience who takes a more focused approach to the whole patient and family experience.
We will always maintain our goal of zero patient harm, and we ask all St. Bernard Hospital employees to remain steadfast in their efforts to keep patients safe and provide the quality of care they deserve.
