Give the Gift of Health
St. Bernard Hospital has the unique position of being the only Catholic, safety net hospital in the Englewood community offering innovative ways to positively impact the health of our community. Generosity removes barriers to healthcare access, enhances the patient and family experience. With your help, we can continue to make a difference in the lives we serve. Donors like you make a difference to the health of these Chicagoans every day in a number of ways. Whether you’d like to make a financial contribution so we can provide care to more people, give the gift of your time, or donate vital, essential items most of us take for granted, like toothbrushes or socks, we thank you.
You are invited to show love and support to patients and families by making a gift in your name, in honor of a loved one, or in memory of a loved one.

Behavioral Health
Your gift allows St. Bernard to provide counselors in the Emergency Room to screen patients and assist clinicians with information necessary for treatment planning. It helps us staff our expanded behavioral health in-patient unit for at-risk and crisis individuals as well as support substance abuse services and linkages to additional recovery support such as housing and employment.

Dental Center
A person’s oral health is vital to their overall health and dependent on access to regular checkups and preventative services. Philanthropy makes certain our Dental Center has ample resources to treat the many kids and families who do not have access to oral care. We also have a rapidly growing practice for special needs children and adults – a population that finds dental care especially difficult to access – and our donors are making a significant impact in our ability to take even more of these patients.

Community Outreach/ Education
The Emergency Room has historically been the place where many community residents go to have many routine issues addressed that could be much better cared for in a clinic setting. Whether providing education on keeping chronic conditions like diabetes or asthma under control, giving immunizations and physicals in the community schools and neighborhoods, administering blood tests, cancer screenings or nutrition assessments, our ability to keep more people out of the hospital and even save lives is improved by the generosity of donors who keep these programs going.
