Asim S. Sheriff joins St. Bernard Hospital as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Dr. Sheriff brings extensive experience in emergency medicine and healthcare leadership, having served as an emergency medicine physician and medical director at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital and St. Anthony Hospital. He also held a faculty position as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sheriff has demonstrated a deep commitment to serving underserved populations and fostering partnerships that strengthen patient care and advance public health outcomes.
In his role as Chief Medical Officer at St. Bernard Hospital, Dr. Sheriff oversees all physician activities across the hospital and ambulatory care center, serving as a key member of the senior leadership team. Alongside his administrative responsibilities, he sees patients as part of the South Yale Emergency Physicians Group in the ER.
Dr. Sheriff earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Indiana University School of Medicine, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
