Inpatient Units

Since 1994 St. Bernard Hospital has focused on providing competent, comprehensive, compassionate behavior health care and crisis intervention in the Englewood community. We have separate inpatient units for our male and female adult clients designed to create a safe and therapeutic environment 24 hours per day.

Your personalized treatment plan begins with stabilization, an evaluation by a multiple disciplinary team, medication management and ends with a post discharge referral to an on campus outpatient program. Our patients are also offered the opportunity to participate in smoking cessation group therapy as well as to meet with substance abuse counselors.

Our specially trained behavior health team is here to care for you.

Behavioral Health 3a
Trauma-Informed Care

St. Bernard Hospital delivers behavioral health services through a trauma-informed approach. Trauma-informed care is defined as understanding, recognizing and responding to the effects of trauma. Many patients we serve are impacted by traumatic events, including various types of violence. We help patients build new coping skills and exercise self-care, and we offer therapeutic services to treat the symptoms or conditions resulting from a traumatic event. Our goal is to provide patients with the physical, mental, and emotional safety to rebuild a sense of control and empowerment. Effectively treating trauma is key to providing quality care and achieving positive clinical outcomes.
