The Patient and Family Advisory Council on Quality and Safety is a panel of residents and employees that works with the Hospital to systematically achieve quality and safety goals. The PFACQS documents the experiences of our adult patients and collects ideas on improving processes to best meet their needs.
Two of the more recent projects that the PFACQS, or the Council, has completed have been educating users on the proper use of the Emergency Room and encouraging men to engage in preventative care.
Launched in 2016, the Council is made up of 12 volunteers—four staff and eight community members. Community members come from all walks of life. They have been patients, friends of patients, community leaders, and healthcare professionals, and they reflect the diverse communities we serve. The Council meets every 2nd Wednesday of each month for a maximum of 90 minutes.
Nationally-recognized
In 2023, St. Bernard Hospital's Patient and Family Advisory Council received the PFAC-tor Award for Excellence and Innovation for our innovative efforts to increase awareness of men's health and proper use of Emergency Room services. We thank ICD Healthcare Network for recognition of our council's work for our community and patient population.
